Wednesday, Mike decided to fast about what we should do next year (New Mexico or Indiana). I guess me telling him on Tuesday that he was moving without us might of had something to do with that decision (crazy, emotional pregnant lady day!)=) So, he fasted and that night he went to his weekly basketball game at the church building. Before the game started, our Stake President asked him to come in and meet with him. He then extended him the calling of Elders Quorum President, which Mike accepted. If that wasn't an answer to our prayers and Mike's fasting I don't know what would be!!
After his meeting, Emerson got hurt on the basketball court and came home with a bump on his head and bloody nose. The following day, I get a call from my Mom that everyone in the family needs to come up to the hospital because they don't think my Grandma will last through the day. Fortunately, by the time I got up there (I had wait for Mike to bring the van home on prep period and drop the kids off at Grandma Nehring's) she was in stable condition. So, all was well.
Then Saturday, we left at 6:45 a.m. to attend the temple. We went down to do sealings and did everything but that. Mike and I helped with our wards baptisms and conformations (which was a wonderful experience with the Youth from our ward) and our friends the Pendletons did initiatories and endowments. It was a good day but exhausting. We got home at 2 p.m. and had to be up at my parents by 4 for a Pre-Mother's Day cookout. It was fun and we loved seeing all our relatives, not to mention eating my Dad's grilled hamburgers, brats, and hot dogs.
Then on Sunday we had church. We tricked Mike's Mom into attending our ward so she could be there when Mike was set apart for his new calling. It was a wonderful day and we ended it with a dinner at our house with Mike's parents. The boys told me over and over again Happy Mother's Day and gave me some wonderful cards. I even received a card from Baby! Their gift was delayed, as they couldn't find what they wanted to get.
I am sure all mothers feel this way, but I have the best husband and children in the whole wide world!!!=) They sure know how to make their wife/mom feel special.
So, as you can see we are starting to finally get settled in Columbus and are pretty certain that this is where the Lord wants us to be at this time!!! Every time we have a different plan, He makes sure we know that we are not in charge! And I will gladly let Him direct us!
