It has been a while since we have posted anything on our blog. June has been a busy month for our family and we are hoping to just rest all of July=)
Mike's family all got together in Indiana to celebrate his youngest brother graduating from high school (also Mike and our sister-in-law, Lindsey, graduating from college). We had a wonderful time with them. Emerson was so happy to have his cousin Adam out here to play with him. They went to the park and also were able to go to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. We met my friend Tashina and her little girl there as well.
A couple days after Mike's family left, our friends the Evan's came into town. They were here for a day and then went to visit his mission, which is in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. They then came back and stayed with us for a week. We were able to take them up to Indy to one of my favorite restaurants (the Rathskeller) and to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We then all went to the movies to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 3. It sure was nice to have all the friends and family out last month, especially since it will be a while before we get to see them all again.
Mike is doing well and is busy coaching and working his landscape business. He starts teaching on August 14 and has his first football game on August 20.
Emerson is still just as crazy as ever. He loves to talk and asks tons of questions. For the most part, he is very kind and gentle to his brother. It is so cute, if Jakob is crying Emerson will go up to him and say "It's ok Jakob, I'm here!" Oh how kids can melt your heart.
Jakob is growing up so fast. In just a few days he started clapping, doing the army crawl, and playing peek-a-boo. I can't believe how fast the time has flown with our second little one.
They should be starting on our house this week and we couldn't be more thrilled. It is going to be nice to have our own four walls. We won't have to worry about our kids annoying our neighbors any longer...well at least not through the walls=)
We hope that all of you are well and we will try and post some pictures of the kids soon!
Love to all,
Mike, Lindsay, Emerson and Jakob
