We had a wonderful Christmas break. It started off by us leaving Saturday, December 20th for Florida. Mike and I decided that now was a good time to take a little vacation, with the price of gas being so low. So, we drove down to Jacksonville and spent a few days with my family. We had so much fun going to the beach, driving down to St. Augustine, touring the old Spanish fort, eating seafood, and just being able to play with the kids. We also got together with my cousin, Missy, who has two girls the same ages as Emerson and Jakob. It was fun to watch our kids play together and remember the fun times her and I had growing up.
We came home Christmas Eve night and was able to have Christmas morning in our own home. The next day we headed up to Plainfield to celebrate Christmas with Papa and Nana, Aunt Bebo and Uncle Nate, all the cousins, and Great Grandpa Bob and Great Grandma Jan. Nana made a wonderful meal and we had so much fun opening presents and being with our family.
The day after Christmas, we got together with the Nehring's. Rod, Amber and their kids, as well as, Kyle and McKay all flew in late Christmas Day. It was fun to watch all the kids play and we enjoyed spending about a week hanging out with them. We were even able to bless Hailey and Nathaniel together in our sacrament meeting. A lady from the 1st ward made their blessing outfits and both of them looked so precious. They were both given very special blessings!
On New Year's Eve, my sisters kids came down and stayed with us for a few days. It was so much fun to have all the chaos in the house, there were 7 kids in our house=). We had marshmallow gun wars, played spoons, went to the church and played games, went to the Kids Commons, and Allie and I even painted each others nails and watched a couple of girly movies=) We enjoyed having them down and look forward to the next time they can come to stay.
What a blessing it is to have the Gospel in our lives. It brings so much joy and happiness! We are grateful to have such wonderful families! We are excited for 2009 and for what the year holds. We especially can't wait for the new additions to the Nehring family, as our brothers and sister-in-laws welcome little ones into their families!!
Thanks to all of you who made 2008 such a wonderful year for us! We are so blessed to have each of you in our lives!
And...by the way...we will post pictures later!
